Burning Ridge — Conway's Golf Course Community
Burning Ridge Golf Links opened in the 1980s as one of Conway's premier golf facilities — an 18-hole course featuring elevation changes uncommon in coastal South Carolina and tree-lined fairways that create a distinctly wooded playing environment. The course has hosted multiple amateur tournaments and is considered one of the Grand Strand's most demanding and rewarding public golf experiences for both residents and visitors.
Residential development around the course built through the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s created the Burning Ridge community — a mix of ranch-style homes from the early development era and larger construction from the 1990s–2000s. The community's inland Conway position means significantly reduced salt air compared to coastal Myrtle Beach — paint cycles run 8–12 years rather than 5–8, hardware corrodes more slowly, and the primary maintenance demands are driven by the tree canopy and the subtropical growing season rather than marine exposure. The HOA maintains active appearance standards that weekly professional lawn care and consistent exterior maintenance reliably satisfy.
